Chicken nuggets are so much better when homemade.
This recipe is THE recipe that young and old will love at home. At least, that's what I notice every time I cook it.

I know from experience that the only negative feedback you might get is that there wasn't enough!

    Chicken, yes, but which cut?

I tend to prefer using chicken thighs, which I find tastier and juicier than the other parts. But you should know that you will have to bone them. The same goes for drumsticks.
You can also use the breast, in this case there is no bone problem, but you will have to reduce the cooking time.
In any case, buy organic free-range chicken. The nuggets will be even better.

    How to batter them?

I see you coming, you don't like to batter them with flour, eggs and breadcrumbs.
That's good, with my recipe you'll simplify your task.
We will use potato starch, salt, pepper and that's it!

The humidity of the chicken will serve as a "glue" for the starch.

Can I make it without a deep fryer?

Absolutely. With a frying pan and neutral oil, that's all you need.
Don't forget to turn on the hood and/or open a window if you want to quickly dissipate the cooking smell.

What can I serve my chicken nuggets with?

With polenta fries! This allows you to introduce your family to new tastes and textures. And I don't know why, but I like to combine corn with poultry. Certainly to remind us of the link of this cereal with our farm chickens.
However, if you prefer, you can imagine serving chicken nuggets with traditional French fries, vegetables, corn on the cob, tomato salad, etc.

    Another tip?

Yes, but it's more of a suggestion. This is a recipe that children love and is ideal to prepare with them. The whole nugget preparation part is simple to make. You only have to cook the nuggets to avoid any risk of accidents.

    Suggestion

You can serve these nuggets as I did with homemade barbecue sauce or homemade ketchup.

    Ingredients

    Scale
    • 4 farm chicken thighs
    • 50 g potato starch
    • salt
    • pepper
    • sunflower oil

    Instructions

    1. Start by deboning and removing the skin from the thighs.
    2. Cut them into pieces of 3cm by 2 cm.
    3. Season them with salt and pepper.
    4. Roll the pieces in starch
    5. Fry them in oil for 5 minutes.
    6. Take them out by placing them on a paper towel to remove excess fat.
    7. Serve them hot

    Notes

    • Serve the nuggets with polenta fries, vegetables or corn on the cob for a change of fries.
    • If you don't have starch, you can replace it with cornstarch.
    • If you are using chicken breast, reduce the cooking time to prevent the meat from drying out.
    • You can keep the skin on to use in broth or to flavour a soup.
