The cook, the photographer and the creator of Badly Yummy. My home is in Toulouse, Occitania, a beautiful region in the southwest of France.
Every day, I enjoy cooking and eating. So much so that I've been working as a cook for 15 years, mostly in gourmet restaurants.
My blog reflects my vision of food and cooking - simple, organic, healthy, economical, creative and fresh.

The recipes are simple, the costs are low but the dishes are good and the presentation, I hope, will please you.
Recipes prepared with organic and fresh ingredients. Often local, sometimes from the garden; here no store-bought bagged mixes or canned soup.
A healthy and balanced cuisine, to allow you to eat everything in reasoned quantities.
I'll show you how to get gourmet flavours from affordable ingredients and how you can organize yourself to quickly serve your family nutritious meals that will make them say, "That's badly yummy!".
My recipes are cost effective, made with everyday ingredients.
But sometimes, I admit that it is quite possible that I let myself go, and that you find a recipe, a little more complicated, that you can reproduce for a Sunday meal or a special occasion.
Why Badly Yummy?
Because the recipes you will find here are not the ones you would expect to find from a former cook in a gourmet restaurant.
They come from family recipes, street food, barbecue, simple dishes. Some recipes are eaten with fingers. This is their "Badly" side. But all of them are tasty and I hope they will trigger emotions within you. This is their "Yummy" side.
So Badly Yummy is the expression I invented, to say it's: "Wickedly good!"
What about the fire logo?
Cooking is above all about cooking food over fire.
The mastery of fire is the basis of all the cuisines around the world!
Personnaly I love to cook on the barbecue (charcoal, wood or pellets don't even mention plancha or gas barbecues, eh!); even on a wood fire.
I was born in France, but have lived in Canada, Montreal; French Guyana and Japan in Tokyo. Now, I have both French and Canadian citizenship.
My travels have taken me almost all over the world, from Europe, to Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Americas. I am only missing Oceania.
Once a professional cook and then I changed direction. But cooking is present in my everyday life. When I am at home, I cook for my wife and son.
For a long time I have been asking myself how I can use my culinary knowledge and pass it on. It took Covid-19 and containment for the idea to germinate to create this blog.
Today, I have the chance to: create and share my favorite recipes with you and hundreds of people around the world.
I learned to cook with my grandmother, Thérèse and my mom Sylviane. And even though I once strived for excellence in cooking, as I get older I realize that I am more in search of simple recipes. Where more than technique or visuals, taste is the main element.
The recipes on my blog are inspired by my past, my masters (my grandmother, my mother, my chefs), my reading, my travels, my permanent research on taste and cooking.
I want to show you how to make recipes you will remember, using everyday ingredients. Fast, good, healthy, economical recipes. Delicious recipes with great "Yummy" potential, simple to make, economical and quick to prepare even at the last minute.
